These messages about the University of Iowa IT outage were sent to campus on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Undergraduate and graduate students:

Dear students,

Early Sunday, the University of Iowa experienced a widespread outage of many IT systems across campus. Information Technology Services (ITS) worked diligently to resolve issues, and service is now restored.

ICON, Panopto, and other instructional services were unavailable since about 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning (Oct. 6). As a result, we are aware that you did not have access to materials, quizzes, or the ability to submit assignments. Instructors are aware of these issues and have been directed to be flexible regarding the challenges that you faced as a result of the outage.

Please plan to attend classes as usual on Monday.

Health sciences students only: If you are a health sciences student with a clinical assignment, we encourage you to contact your preceptor and/or instructor as appropriate.

We appreciate your patience as we addressed the disruptions. If you need further assistance, please contact your instructor or email provost-office@uiowa.edu.
